The village of Samois-sur-Seine was built on the resources of the forest and the river. Fortunately, it has been able to take advantage of a special environment where life is good: the banks of the Seine. The port of Samois was once used to ship firewood and sandstone paving stones. These raw materials were extracted from the Fontainebleau forest and shipped to Paris.
