Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981, the Château de Fontainebleau is the only royal residence to have been inhabited by every French sovereign from the 12th to the 19th century.
Constantly transformed, adorned and enriched over eight centuries, it is now an immense palace with over 1,500 rooms, surrounded by 130 hectares of parkland and gardens. Its exceptional collections make it the most furnished of all French royal châteaux.
