Organized in partnership with the Institut national d'histoire de l'art, the Festival de l'histoire de l'art is an annual three-day event that brings the public together for more than 300 events, free of charge at the château and in partner venues in the surrounding area. The Festival offers lectures, debates, book presentations and round-table discussions, as well as film screenings, concerts, readings, guided tours and activities for families and children, all with the aim of helping visitors discover, deepen and share in art and its history.
In 2025, the chosen country is Austria, and the theme will be "The True, the False".
The castle will be freely accessible for the duration of the Festival.
For the 14 th edition, festival-goers are invited to discover the ancient and contemporary artistic production of Austria, a country that has distinguished itself exceptionally well in all artistic fields. Researchers, curators, artists, art world professionals, publishers and students from France, Austria and elsewhere will be on hand to share their knowledge of the arts, retrace the history of images and objects, reveal their meanings and pass on their passion and profession.
From provenance to documentation and restoration, questions of truth and falsity are at the heart of many issues relating to works of art.
