European Heritage Days - Fontainebleau

    For two exceptional days, heritage sites open their doors to you for exclusive or unusual events.
    To reflect Bellifontaine's rich history, a number of events on different themes are planned.

      The Médiathèque de Fontainebleau is pleased to invite you to the 1st edition of a major week dedicated to heritage, with the aim of promoting local heritage in all its forms.

      Each of these original highlights will be based on key works from the Médiathèque's old collections, which will be exceptionally presented to the public during the events: 17th-century prints and vedutes, royal archives, etc.

      The program includes

      -Saturday, September 21
      10 and 11 a.m. - visit to the heritage reserve
      3pm - lecture on "court life, theater and music at the time of the Sun King (1661-1714)" by Patrick Daguenet, history professor

      - Sunday September 22nd
      3pm and 4pm - visit to the heritage reserve

      -Tuesday, September 24th
      6:30pm - lecture "La Forêt de Fontainebleau en partage, du Moyen-Âge au XIX ème siècle", by M.J.-C. Polton, General Secretary of the Friends of the Forest of Fontainebleau

      - Wednesday September 25: Illumination and calligraphy workshop
      10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. - Teens/adults
      3pm to 5:30pm - Children aged 9 and over

      - Thursday, September 26th
      6:30pm - lecture "Ambroise and his descendants, painters to the King at Fontainebleau (17th c.)", by M. Céruti, Associate Professor of History

      -Friday September 27th
      2pm - Exceptional private visit to the Château de Fontainebleau
      3pm to 6pm - Round-table discussion with the Revue d'Histoire de la Ville et sa région

      -Saturday, September 28th
      9:30 am - Guided walk in the forest of Fontainebleau, led by M. Polton



      The Théâtre de Fontainebleau opens its doors to you
      - Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22
      10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for self-guided tours
      11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. guided tours on reservation
